The International Association of Traders,
Inc. (AKA) The IAT
Helping Traders Master their Method and their
Madness.
The International Association of Traders was incorporated in
2010 and is a global organization of trader/investor members. The primary functions of the association are
to assist traders and investors in receiving quality educaton in technical and fundamental trading, precision
risk assessment and indiviidualized psychological analysis in their respective markets, assisting in developing
personalized trading strategies and providing a real-world live trading experience for traders . The IAT
has Individual members in 11 countries around the world and will open sister associations around the world
as the need expands.
The International Association of Traders is an Organization of
Experienced and Qualified Traders Helping Other Traders
Membership is open globally to serious investor/traders who
seek to control their own investment capital and as such the IAT will provide personalized
training to help each member reach that goal, however in order to comply with regulations, the
IAT will not provide specific advise on indivdual investments (all final desicions are the sole responsibility
of the investor). The IAT will provide basic, advanced and customized technical and fundamental education based
on the collective experience of the founding members, verified research data and insights from qualified
members in good standing.
Regulations are developed to protect the
unsuspecting, but most are enticed into trading by the lure (and exageration) of easy money. Marketers tempt
you with simple systems reportedly able to make huge sums of cash (while you sleep) and you are
looking to buy a winning system, but the exchange is missing a critical component, one on one training. Without
a "co-pilot" (personal instruction) and on-going live support, applying a trading system by yourself will be
mired in doubt, fear (or even greed) and according to trading psychologists - "destined for
failure".
Technical and fundamental analysis are key components of a
trading education, but instilling an unshakable belief in yourself and the system are never available in a
pre-packaged program. Past performance is not indicative of future results because markets are always changing
and resistance to change is a normal human obstacle. A statistical backtest may show promising results, but
actual trading results of real account balances still show most traders/investors lose money (75% losses to 25%
gains reported by a major broker recently)!
Chart analysis and indicators like the Relative Strength
Index, Stochastic and even Fibonacci retracement tools are only a part of the total package when you learn to
trade. You absolutely need someone looking over your shoulder to guide you through the intricate fluctuations
of price patterns and action because failure to recognize even a minor change in sentiment as it is forming
will result in an emotional over-ride of the logical decision making (part of the brain) and the responding
fear will consistently erode your confidence as well as your account balance.
Emotions are totally normal, but the most
over-looked component of successful trading plans. Suggestions of some trainers to control your emotions miss
the most basic reality of emotions - we don't control them, they are a primal response, hard-wired into every
human brain since our first existence. The survival instinct protects us form danger - real or imagined and
losing money is fearful to every investor and trader. This paradox is the basis for failure of most traders and
investors, we are willing to gamble (hopefully with an edge) but really don't want to give up the money already
in our hands, real or imagined!
The only consistent cure for the emotional over-ride
everyone will experience is the comfort of a co-pilot, an experienced trainer willing to guide you through
your own worst realizations and push you into new conditioning and positive trading habits despite your
willingness to crawl back in your hole and give up (the ultimate safety, comfort and survival instinct - get me
out of this fearful losing environment!).
